... Welcome to the New Registration Desk

At this point it would be appreciated if you would register for the conference, for which there is no charge. To do this, you are invited to proceed as follows. (Don't worry, it's simpler than it may at first look):

1. Go to http://center.hamline.edu
2. Click on the 'Enter ==> The Center @ Hamline' link;
3. Click on the 'Self Registration' link;
4. Fill in the form indicating your interest in the so-called "zestrategies" conference;
5. Supply userid, password on prompt (keep short since you are going to use each time to enter first);
6. Confirm password when prompted;
7. Provide personal information in form as requested (Your Full Name is all that's required at this point);
8. Click to the Tutorial, and after a few minutes there you will be ready to go to the Caucus Center ;
9. Scroll down to 'Join a Conference by name'; there enter "zestrategies" in the provided space;
10. Click the yes button to add the conference to your personal conference list;
11. On the zestrategies home page, have a look and click on the discussion topic of interest to participate.
12. The best place to go first is to the Self-Introduction section, and when you have read the rest it will be a good time to let the others know a bit about yourself.

You may wish to print out the above so that you have it right next to you when you first enter the forum. If you want a bit more background (but you should be just fine with what you have here, you may turn to the section on A Few Hints To Get You Going from the 8 September Podium piece announcing the New Discussion Panels and Procedures for Our Conference:.

So, if you are ready we can start the registration right here by clicking the following icon....

If you do not register, you will only have partial access to the conference. Of course "lurkers' are welcome too; but since the purpose of all this is to open up a cross-disciplinary, international dialog on our topic, it would be good to hear from you.

You may also wish to tell us.....

... something about the electronic and communications tools at your disposal for the meeting (see the section First Introduction to the Tools of the Conference for more on this). If you have gotten this far, you are of course Web-savvy, but many of us still have problems with such things as zipping (compression/decompression) and encoding of files for easy transmittal over the net; so if that is a problem for you thus far, do let us know and we will send you short note on how this can be done.

We are assuming that the main thrust of interest of the participants will be the sustainable development research and policy issues which bring us here. But if you also have a particular interest in the communications and conferencing tools that we are trying to make use of here, it would be useful to hear from you on this as well. We don't want to get the cart before the horse, but it is a cart and they do have their uses.

Finally, you may wish to take advantage of this first communication to suggest papers or reports that might be usefully lodged in our project library, as well as other people and groups whom you believe should be invited to join. To get these to us, simply click HERE and jot down your notes and comments.

And if You Can't Quite Make Up Your Mind...

you have two quick checkout options at hand. One is to turn to the Virtual Conference Summary Page, which presents in a single Web page a comprehensive microcosm of the conference as a whole. And/or you can turn to the conference's What's New page which is updated each day and have a look there, perhaps beginning with Day 1 of the conference to get an idea of the flow of events as well as the working tools of the meeting.

__ Conference Site Map and Guide

Now that you are with us . . . we suggest that you move into the conference via Conference Site Map. From there on the path should, hopefully, be clearly marked.
