_ The Zero Emissions Strategy Conference
The smaller column to your left on the conference summary page presents our so-called "Fast Track rail". The intention behind it is to provide a device to open up all parts of the conference site (both substantive and Web-technical), as well as to a number of sites and sources on the World Wide Web more generally that relate to the concerns of the conference. The whole thing is laid out in a way that is intended to be convenient and encourage use. The short section that follows is intended as a handy guide to its use.
The FastTrack rail provides in its topmost reaches direct links to the main substantive content or sections of the conference. The first set of small icons you will see directly below the Astronomer logo provide easy ways to link directly to the various pages and sections that deal with the substantive concerns of the conference. Icons showing an arrow are already linked to their respective pages. Those with a red light, have yet to join the fold.
The pages and sites grouped under this heading are those that deal with the 'second concern' of our meeting, specifically all that has to do with the Web site and what we call the 'electronic environment' more generally.
Assuming that you are not too proud to look and learn, here are a few first class Web learning resources you may find it useful to check out before you get down to work in the conference itself. We would urge those unsure of their skills to check out at least the first three or four.
The icons in this section will link you directly to the Web sites of the sponsors and other contributing actively to the conference. In each case there will be a Webmaster or Postmaster who can take your comments and pass them on to management.
The "Web Tools" section offers a collection of sources which you will find of real use, not only for the conference but for your work and enjoyment more generally.
The "Consider Visiting" sites have been culled from the millions of sites out there in the Web with a view to elucidating and expanding the topic of the conference. They constitute a set of programs and links which can be consulted both for what they contain in themselves on the topics that bring us here, as well as creative points of departure to yet other resources, both on the Web and otherwise.
These have been selected as a first collection of sites that relate to the main work and interests of the conference and to which we would draw your particular attention. In the main we see these sites as providing valuable complements to the work of the meeting and the proposed second stage of activity under the UNU/IAS program, including even shaping roles. In others, they may show rather different approaches, which we put before you as a reminder that this is a big world and that there are quite a range of opinions and approaches out there which are receiving attention. And that most of the problems we are looking at are still very much ‘work in process’.

Assuming that you are taking this in order, the sequence for your consultation will now be:
So, if you agree, your next pit stop should probably be ...
