Introduction

This section of the conference will be gradually built up in successive iterations as work on the track progresses. It will be fed and influenced by the various position papers that are presented, the new sources and links brought to the attention of the meeting, the concrete examples and projects which are introduced, and the commentaries and exchanges that take place on the WebBoard discussion forum over the duration of the meeting. In all this we shall be looking for:

• Points of general agreement
• Points of major divergencies of opinion
• Areas and topics on which we need to know more
• Ways in which these knowledge gaps might be bridged
• The role that distance collaboration such as this conference might play in this process

The process of posting ideas and conclusions here, then of critiquing and as necessary changing and enhancing them, will be carried out right on this site and the corresponding section of the discussion forum
