At this point it would be appreciated if you would take a moment to sign in to the conference, for which there is of course no charge. If you do not register, you will only have partial access. Of course "lurkers' are welcome too; but since the purpose of all this is to open up a lively cross-disciplinary, international dialog on our topic, it would be good to hear from you.

    One-Step Registration:_

The sign-on procedure is straight-forward. All you need to do is to go to our conference WebBoard right here and you will be taken through the several short steps that are needed. It should take you no more than two minutes to log in -- a bit more if you would be so kind as to provide the meeting with a bit of background that could help the others know a bit more about you and your work.

    Email Registration:_

Alternatively you can send a simple email note here which will inform our postmaster that you are joining the meeting. If in addition to your name you could add a line of two of background on who you are and what you do, this would of course be of interest to the others. Best of all if you can give us a Web page that might help us all get to know you and those with whom you work, this would be both efficient and much appreciated. You will see an example of such an entry below,

    Special TeleConferencing interest

We are assuming that the main thrust of interest of the participants will be the various technology and sustainable development research and policy issues which bring us here. But if you also have a particular interest in the communications and conferencing tools that we are trying to make use of here, it would be good to hear from you on this as well. We don't want to get the cart before the horse, but it is really some cart and they do have their uses.

Finally, you may wish to take advantage of this first communication to suggest papers or reports that might be usefully lodged in our project library, as well as other people and groups whom you believe should be invited to join. To get these to us, simply click HERE and jot down your notes and comments, or better yet go to the and let us know through there.

    Sample Entry:

This is an example which you will find repeated in the self-introduction section of the WebBoard. Perhaps you will want to share either a picture or a recorded message with the meeting. If so, you will see how this can be done.

I shall be serving as Moderator of the conference track, Towards Zero Emissions, and have taken an active role in finding support for this program over the last year. I am hopeful that this conference and the program behind it will make a much-needed contribution to the research, scientific and policy communties on these important environmental and technology issues. You will find a detailed statement of my position on this in the Null Hypothosis of our Track.
