Mississippi Rising: Home Page - A cooperative program aimed at using the World Wide Web and other means of getting together, to the end of improving the deployment and management of technology as it effects all of us in our daily lives in the towns and countryside of Mississippi. One of the main goals of this program is to identify, encourage and support particularly imaginative attempts at addressing the problems that are holding back economic and social development in our state, and in the process making life more difficult than it should be for all too many people and places. This is, as hopefully you have noticed, intended to be an interactive forum here on the World Wide Web. More than that, its entire usefulness and future will lay in the extent to which people and groups around the state (and elsewhere) not only make use of the materials which we all would like to bring to your attention and put at hand, but also give proof of their willingness to pitch in. Thus, to make a long story short, we need to hear from you.

With this in mind, we have placed on each page an email icon which we hope you will make use of in order to share with us your questions, critical comments and suggestions on the various topics that are being put forth here. In addition, we would like you to invite you to take contact by phone,in writing, or, if you happen to have access to it, by one of our favorite options which is videoconferencing (concerning which a quick update of the state of the art is available by clicking HERE).

We are hopeful too that in the months ahead one or more groups in the state will decide to join in this effort with either projects or programs of their own, and as soon as this happens we will give you full contact information on them here.
