New Sites, Activities and Links

Collaborative Projects, Partnerships and Linking to the Web:

Even as the first rounds of sites and the basic infrastructure itself are still being firmed up, discussions are already under way with numerous eventual partners concerning various forms of collaboration and interaction under the electronic environment program over the coming year. Whereas no firm commitment has been made on any of the following on either side, this listing maybe helpful by way of illustration of the sort of projects that this structure could be usefully deployed to support. You may have ideas of your own concerning such joint proejcts; if so, get in touch with WebMeister to initiate an exchange.

  • ETD - European Telework Development Program - A new initiative for European Telework and possibly one of the best places to start your research for projects, information and groups active in this area.

  • TbyT - "Transport by Telecoms" - A new program which is under discussion based on an initiative taken in August 1996 by the Dutch Ministry of Transport and the European Telework Development Program, with the gentle support of DG XIII of the European Commission and cooperation of EcoPlan.

  • MIRTI - International cooperative research program investigating models of contractual relationships for distance workers. Led by partners in Austria, Germany Italy,and France. 1996/97

  • Ciudades Accesibles - The Spanish Accessible Cities program, MOPTMA, 1993-2000

  • Exclusion: Lifelong Learning in the Information Society. IFHS Expert Workshop in Spain. September 1996

  • Car-Free Reykjavik A Planned Thursday Demonstration for Reykjavik, Iceland, August 1996

  • Telework '96: 3rd European Assembly on Telework and New Ways to Work, Vienna, November 1996

  • Operation Bootstrap: Support for innovative regional self-help schemes in regions suffering from problems related to de-industrialization, utilizing "new work" principles with some useful infusion of IT (Contact EcoPlan for more on this. Collaborating groups being sought, 1995-2000)
