Note 2: The members of our informal consortium are invited to lend a hand to help us do a better job yet with this. Take a look at the search in your language/operatng area. Can you help us do better? Good idea. Do it! After all it's for all of us who are devoted to this terrific concept.

    Google News Sites

    1. English Language News Alerts
This newsfeed organized through Google News calls up carshare related items from the print press in English drawn from the web and covering more than four thousand news sources. Roughly 90% of the entries relate to our topic, with the items stocked for one month after appearing. (We have tried to get rid of ride- lift-sharing references but there may still be some vestiages of this found here. Though minor.)

    2. Dutch references
This like the other language searches reported here cover items appearing on the web within the last three months. In each case it is easy to refine the exact terms of the search for your specific needs. The present search comes up with more than 800 references.

    3. French
This web search looks for the keywords autopartage, voiture partagee and several variants. (It does not look for co-voiturge since this most often on the web at least refers to lift-sharing.) As you will see it turns up more than two thousand references, all from the last three months and all of course in the language of Moličre.

    4. German
This engine searches for the keywords StattAuto OR StadtteilAuto OR stadtauto OR Coop auto OR Stadtmobil OR Teilauto OR Autoteilen, coming up with more than twenty thousand references from the last three months, 99% of which of course in German.

    5. Spanish
This search used coche-compartido and automóviles-colectivos (thank you Mikel Murga) and already does a pretty good job of putting you in the picture for carsharing in Spain (where things are just about to get udderway, so stay tuned). (There is some ambituguity in these phrases with the concept of "lift-sharing" or "ride-sharing", so we must leave it to the alert reader to sort that ot for herself.)
    6. Swedish
Here we use the keywords bilkooperativ and bilpool, and these brought up more than five thousand Swedish language references for the last three months.

    7. Italian (as yet less definitive)
This is a somewhat more rustic approach at this point, perhaps appropriate given the relatively recent appearance of the carsharing idea in Italy. Nonetheless it provides a useful first point of departure in getting some idea fo what is going on there, and we can expect that this will both expand and improve as on-going events there continue to advance.
      • This Italian to 'English' page needs to be read with care, since more than half the articles are orginally in English. You will see.

  • Web links to EVs and Carsharing
And here is one for the road: on the interface between carsharing and electric vehicles (needs work but at least it's a start.)
