Summary Bio
Maria Elena is a Humphrey Fellow at the University of Washington. Before entering the Fellows program, Maria Elena spent 6 years as Deputy Director of the Environment and Education Program for Costa Rica's Ministry of Environment and Energy. For those who remember "Jelly Jam: The People Preserver," you'll be interested to know Maria Elena did the Spanish translation of the book, and oversaw its distribution and use in Costa Rica. She has spent several years in Russia, and speaks the language fluently. Maria Elena Rodriguez is working for the Earth Day Network and will be bringing groups on board in Russia and, together with Oscar Edmundo Diaz cities adn groups in Latin America for Earth Car Free 2001.
