Kim, your typical off the shelf Swede, born in Denmark of Hungarian parents, is Webmaster of the Economic Development Agency of City of Stockholm. One of his latest creations, in addition to what you can see in these pages, is the fine website of the Stockholm Challenge, which you can visit at http://www.challenge.stockholm.se/. He recently made this point about the connection between the world of computers and the world we live in when he says: "After a long day of Perl, asp, Javascript, SQL, HTML, DHTML, Java and the rest, I still have to climb out of my chair and walk into the world we live in. The world that we are in fact making. And to my way of seeing things the environment is a global question and the use of the Internet to gather all projects in the world to cooperate in a common task is a ideal way to put it to work".

Kim has worked long and hard with the ECFD team closely in recent months to help us develop the great database that we are using to collect and share information on car free projects and plans around the world. He has done this on his own time as a volunteer, which has involved many very late nights and lost weekends, as those of you who are familiar with how these things work know so well. His interest in the future or our plant and future generations is both general and specific. If you want to understand the latter, meet Victor, born on 8 March 2000 adn who will grow up on the earth we leave for him.

Kim wants Victor to have a world which is cleaner, healthier and safer than even the one that he finds when he walks out of his door each morning onto the shining streets of Stockholm
