Mr. Bernow was a founding member in 1976 of the Boston-based Tellus Institute, a non-profit research and consulting organization in resource and environmental planning and policy, where he now directs its Energy and Environment Program. His recent work has included energy, environmental and climate change policy analyses, incorporating environmental externalities into planning and pricing, exploring sustainability futures, evaluating ecological tax reforms and examining regional transportation and environmental strategies. Prior to co-founding Tellus Institute, he taught at the university level for 7 years, and holds degrees in Engineering and Applied Science and Physics.
