Mr. Diekmann served more than 25 years as Secretary General of the Verband der Automobilindustrie e.W. (VDA). He is the author of many publications on the motor industry and transport policy, and now serves as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Deutsche Automobile Treuhand GmbH (DAT) and of the Liaison Committee of the European Automobile Industry within ACEA. He is also President of the Organisation Internationale des Constructeurs d’Automobiles (OICA). Mr. Diekmann holds degrees in languages and economics, and has lectured at the University of Koln.
